Ballin’ Jacks formed in late 2014 following Rudy Blu’s split from The Midnight Special (now Hidden Charms), who he’d been lead singer of since 2012. They had been invited to LA by Kevin Agunas, but Rudy rejected a record deal from Fairfax to start a new project. He went on to play with Liam Toon and Connor Ojala, but after Connor split in 2015 they are now a 4-piece along with George Adams and Cabbage.
Resisting traditional genres, they describe their musical style as 'Rock'n'Soul' - bringing together their varied influences from Elvis and Bob Dylan to The Stooges and Blur.
In 2016, Stuart Epps referred to them as “the answer to the lack of bands to take over where Led Zepp, Bad Company, Free, Small Faces left off”.
Luca Wu is an Italian-born, London based pianist, singer-songwriter and composer. Classically trained, he has also always had a passion for pop/rock music; his style reminds of most notable 'pianomen' such as Elton John and Billy Joel, but his sound is also obviously influenced by bands such as Queen, Toto and Pink Floyd.
In his eclectic repertoire you will find symphonic rock ballads as well as involving upbeat anthems, connected by a common thread of catchy tunes. Luca's lyrics draw from his spiritual and philosophical journey as well as from pop culture and classic literature.
Singer/Songwriter based between Oxford and London; with Welsh roots and soulful sounds, Dolly's music captivates, with haunting vocals and ambient tones. Her combination of folk, soul and acoustic guitar create an emotive and poetic soundscape channelling life, love and loss.
