Jazz trio Arthur on mini-tour to launch new CD
Arthur is a jazz trio of Simon Youngman on alto sax, Ben Higham on tuba and Geoff Charlton on drums playing edgy music inspired by the great alto player Arthur Blythe, who died earlier this year. They are about to release their first CD entitled ‘On it' on 33Xtreme. Some of the material was recorded on a recent Arts Council England supported UK tour. The music is a mixture of intriguing original and existing compositions performed with energy and imagination.
Arthur will be supported by the immersive textures of Hymn, a collective of Chris Dowding on trumpets and electronics joined by combinations of Sylvia Hallett, violin and electronics, Graham Dunning, electronics and David Ross, percussion and electronics.
